Understanding
Detox Diet Basics

Getting started with a detox

Detox diet basics require anyone who wants to do a detox, whether it be just a colon detox, liver detox or a complete body cleanse,to always consult a medical professional prior to starting.

Which detox is best for you?

Your metabolism, body type, and your medical history can help determine the best detox for you to use.

A recommendation and supervision from a qualified medical professional may also be necessary if an individual has any of the following conditions

Anemia * Diabetes * Heart disease * Kidney disease * Liver disease * Immune disease * High or Low blood pressure * Ulcers * Epilepsy * Cancer * Overweight * Underweight * Drug or Alcohol dependenc * Eating disorder * Food allergy * Any other disease or disorder

How often should I do this detox?

The detox diet is recommended once or twice a year, but no more than three times at best.

Longer periods of detox may result in a nutrient defficiency due to a restrictive diet, and it is said to slowly ease back to normal eating, while still trying to maintain a healthy diet.

An individual should always try to maintain frequent bowel movements, and do a colon cleanse, since the elimination of stools and urine will help in the toxins being excreted from the body.
